Being a whole woman to me means accepting all parts of myself, the good and the not so good. It means accepting that I will evolve as I grow mentally, physically, emotionally, and spiritually, and that sometimes this won't be pretty or easy. Being whole, for me, includes being true to myself and honoring my inner voice and intuition over the crowd. It means following my own path even when it veers off the course I initially set off on. Being whole means asking for what you need and believing you deserve it. As a mother, being a whole woman means following my maternal instincts instead of listening to "expert" advice on feeding, sleeping, and discipline issues. Being whole for me means helping my children be their whole selves as well. This truly has been difficult. The desire to impose my expectations on my children has been strong, but I feel I grow a little every time I remind myself that they are their own people and what I have in mind for them may (and is often not) what they have in mind for themselves. Being whole also often means letting go. It means standing up for those who cannot stand up for themselves and being a voice for those who have not found their own voice yet. Being a whole woman on this site means continuing to be part of a wonderful group of women who have inspired me to dive into the unknown and out of my comfort zone to put my thoughts out into the digital world in an attempt to help or inspire others on some level. Thank you for considering keeping me!
